I still find this very widespread and oft-repeated assertion difficult to understand. It implies that buying a kobo, turning it on, buying a book, then reading it is somehow less "quick and easy" than the exact same process on a Kindle. Having done it on both, I find no difference between how "quick and easy" the process is. It's also just as easy to buy a Kobo as it is to buy a Kindle.

The only significant difference would be Kindle Unlimited, and I'd love to see stats on how many Kindle users do use this versus those who don't. Certainly in my country, it was such poor value that I dropped it without regrets after 3 months, long before I ever thought of buying a Kobo.
