Unhappy font embedding / license

Hello,
I want to publish an epub using a google open font (Noto mono). I’m using the font in Word, then create the epub w/ the Calibre software. In case I want to embed the font, according to the OFL: "the license txt file should be included in the epub file" but I don’t know how to do that.

I was told by a member of the OFL forums the following:
"The key question is whether the fonts are changed at all by Calibre. If they are just copied in, then the license info remains in the font itself and you’re OK. If they change the fonts then you’ll need to confirm that the copyright and license info in the fonts remain there. You’ll need to write the Calibre developers to confirm what they are doing."

So my question is: Are the fonts changed in any way when they are embedded? Do I need to be doing anything else so that the license text file be included w/ the embedded font? or Is it that when I choose the font to be embedded in Calibre, the license is included automatically somehow?

When I did some tests and unzipped epub files w/ embedded fonts to see the contents, I couldn't find anything that resembled a license text file.

Also, should the font be embedded by selecting the ttf or otf font file or through a zip file that includes the font as well as the license txt file.

Please help, I'm totally lost
Thank you very much in advance
