Since there is a timed "screensaver" that shuts off the frontlight, and the frontlight will come on when returning from that "sleep"/suspended state, most use cases for such a feature may be already covered. Probably, the best that you can get, without a light sensor. Devices with a sensor may provide a system level setting to allow the sensor to control the frontlight level.
