The Terror by Dan Simmons. A tome at over 1000 pages. But he keeps it gripping till the end.

Most of way through Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident. Gripping and inexplicable true story.

Also reading Clarke's Sands of Mars, Twilight by William Gay (lyrical southern noir gothic) and Bradbury short stories. All excellent in their own way.
