Hi,
Thanks for your feedback here! The issue is caused by sunlight.
We are here to inform you that this issue is caused by our system pre-condition for optimizing the speed of handwriting. We will release the update package later on. The new option will be added to help our users choose if you need this pre-condition or not. If you do not tick this option, the display of the screen will not turn grey anymore.
You are suggested to submit bugs on Feedback via Settings/ Feedback on your device. Our colleague will reply to you with the solution by email or send the package to your device so that you could update and fix this issue.
Thanks for your support!

I noticed the same issue on my Boox Nova 2, and exactly as you found out, it is related with the stylus, and so there is one solution to get rid off that problem using the stock reading app (Neo Reader), and that is to disable scribble!
When you are using Neo Reader, tap in the center to show parameters, and then, there are several icons on the top right of the screen: the left-most icon is for enable/disable scribble.
You should know that it needs a little time for the effect to completely disappear, like a minute or so. So after a little time, refesh the screen and tadaaa! No problem any more, you can read in direct sunlight (but you cannot take notes any more).
Thank you very much for figuring out that it was due to the pen! I probably would have never thought of it!"
