Ok, curiosity was killing me. The light does extinguish when "Charged: 100%" is reached. My only gripe is the location. Kobo should have placed the light on the exterior long edge, perhaps near the usb port. As it is, there is no way to know charging is complete until opening the cover and navigating to the home page to check. A really dumb design.
