It's a very bad idea in ebooks, and usually leads to serious trouble.

See 2019's topic, "Revolutionary code? Need feedback" discussing Blitz and some problems that creep up while using it. (Also, if I remember correctly, Hitch discussed/warned against resets somewhere in that thread.)

As always, best to just KISS. Trying to override everything will cause all these weird edge-case quirks/bugs in ereaders.
