It might work. But you would need to get the details right. Probably the way to do it would be to back everything up, sign out and then sign into your account. Then take a copy of the appropriate record from the database, restore the backup and update the details for that record. It wouldn't keep any purchased and downloaded books from the first account, but, it would probably would keep the sideloaded books.

But, overall, if you have any intention of buying books from Kobo, starting with a real email address is worth it. Maybe create something just for this. And, as @DNSB pointed out, you can turn the sharing off. But, I'm happy for Kobo to know how I am using the device. Hopefully it will help them to work out how to improve it. I do make suggestions, but, if there is usage data to back it up, that will make it more likely to happen.
