MobileRead's wiki and forums contain a lot of information on the various readers that are available. Since Sony just introduced its reader into Germany, you'll probably want to check out that device. I'm not sure what other readers are sold in Germany, but we do have lots of members from there -- enough to support the German-language forum(s) and a growing number of free books written in German (or maybe translated to German).
