I don't think they have much choice. There won't be enough supply of anything to offer discounts. I frequently check the daily deals for Computers and Accessories. Before the lockdowns there would be 8-10 pages of deals including PC's, laptops, monitors, networking gear, storage etc. That shrank to a fraction of one page, maybe a charging cable or tablet cover or two. Prices on storage e.g. have risen substantially. Whatever deals they could scrounge up would sell out quickly and leave hordes of unhappy customers. It makes more sense for them to squeeze as much profit as they can from their limited supply. Pent-up demand could keep prices high for a while - I'll be surprised if even Black Friday amounts to much this year.

On the bright side, digital content is mostly unaffected and there have been some nice deals there to fill the void...
