160 x 160 is pretty tiring to read on
Then there was 320 x 320 (not used it) and 1/4 VGA 320 x 240, which is also tedious for a book. All those are OK for notes.
I think 800 x 600 is a minimum. There is a 4.3" eink with that, but it's about $70 + duty/tax on eBay.
Most of the cheap no-name phones are GSM only. Some of that here has been swapped to 3G and ANY operator can swap any mast here to 3G with no public notice, just a 6 month in advance note to the regulator. So you ARE potentially buying a PDA!
