Abandoned at 50%. A long omniscient narrator recap of one suspect's entire history with the victim over a couple of decades was too much.

Then I bought and read The Physicians of Vilnoc by Lois McMaster Bujold. The latest (8th) in her Penric and Desdemona series of novellas.

Wonderful as expected. As usual, a complete tale in itself.

Next up: The Millers Dance by Winston Graham. The 9th in his Poldark series.
