Wow, this is confusing to me. Isn’t the same update pushed out to everyone? (regionally, at least) So how would it be possible for me to have a different firmware than others...let alone
most others?
Do you mean a different
version, or the same version but just different build?

Possibly. It you want to keep that feature I recommend holding off updating to 5.12.5 for now.

Yeesh, I was hoping you wouldn’t say that. I really don’t want to lose the quick toggle, but its not possible to prevent that Kindle from receiving the update, because I go back and forth between Kindle (reading) and Audible (listening. So I
need it to stay connected to wifi, for them to be able to sync. I guess I’ll just have to take my chances.
Although, to be honest, I’m kind of curious to find out if the toggle is still there after the update.

(If you do happen to update please let us know if the dark mode icon is still there afterwards.)

I sure will.

The first six characters of the serial number identify the specific model, including regional variations. The four characters you posted, "G000", are common to several Kindle models. The next two characters will narrow it down.

Ok, no problem. I’ve attached a new image showing the other two digits.
