I have an ipad mini which is about the same size, it is extremely responsive, but battery life is poor and I don't like the Apple ecosystem.

I only care about reading on the device, thus it needs to have fast page turns and good ppi. Too bad the newest Kindle 8" fire has such poor ppi. Can be either Android or ereader.

I've researched a bunch of them, but most of the Androids have poor ppi. Am I missing a great one, or should I just wait and hope one comes out soon.
What version firmware are you running? The current 4.20.14622 firmware is the one you should try if that's not what you are running. I am running this firmware on my older H2O and it's not slow.
