I read my epub books on my phone using Chrome using the viewer from the Calibre server. This works very well for me, except that besides next/previous page controls to the right and left of the screen, there is also next/previous chapter controls at the top and bottom. Swipe down goes to next chapter, swipe up goes to previous chapter.

You can change from page mode to flow mode to change swipe behaviour.

Choose the page layout mode. In paged mode, the text is split up into individual pages, as in a paper book. In flow mode text is presented as one long scrolling page, as in web browsers.
