I know it's the default setting as it's supposed to do, but is there any setting I can toggle so that it only charge when the battery is below a certain level?

Normally I read for about 30mins - 1 hour and stop, so when I put it in cover it's battery still remains 70-80%. I'm worried if it keep charging at that state, it will soon drain off my battery life.
There's no way to do that, and no need either -- the Kindle's "100%" indication is actually more like 80% (evidence: if you fully charge an Oasis 1 from the wall and then unplug it from the cover, it sits at 100% for an hour or two).

In my experience the thing lasted three years or so before serious battery capacity loss kicked in: faster than other Kindles but not disastrously so.
