I don't know why it wouldn't open the epub. I've yet to re-install my new laptop with Linux and in my experience Windows do stupid things...
If I make a copy of the epub, that copy opens fine in Sigil...
But never mind, whatever the problem is (and it's not an issue for me), I'm sure it's not Sigil's fault. Probably mine.
