Metadata changes logged?

Does calibre log changes to metadata at all? Especially when renaming a tag via the tag browser or batch renaming? I know there is no undo function, but is there a log somewhere, or maybe a flag in debug mode that would save that information?

An example would be:

If I batch edit 10 books and add a tag, a custom #subject, and another custom column like #for_school, in the log it would show the book names and that those things were added.

or

if I rename a tag in the tag editor and it renames 30 books, it would list the 30 books with the new tag name.
---------

I've been editing a lot of my tags in the tag browser, cleaning up misspellings mostly, and the other night instead of renaming a tag, I seemed to have to deleted it. I went looking through the logs, and I can't find anything that would tell me what books were edited. I know what the tag is, but with 23,884 papers/books in the database, there's no way I'm going to find those 42 that had that specific tag.

I know a log like this would be massive, that's why I was hoping maybe it'd be just a debug flag or something, I just know I'm going to make that same mistake again somehow.
