  1. Depends on what you are looking for. Personally, I prefer epub
  2. Yes, kepub adds a mass of spans that are not visible using an epub renderer so they have little to no effect on other devices.
  3. If you want to convert an epub to kepub and send it to your Kobo, I don't think you can do this and save annotations. It will be seen as a new ebook.
