There is still USB hardware and firmware. The file system may use a different buffer for USB. Your devices A/V (if installed) may not look at the Amazon whisper sync files...

Yes, I'm able to transfer .mobi and .azw3 files (converted through calibre) via usb, through my file manager: new books are listed and can read 'em.
So my question is: what's the difference between using calibre or directly coping files to the /documents folder? The only thing I noticed is the missing cover, is there anything else I am missing?
