I have bought quite a few things from Woot over the years and I've never had a problem. It's been a while and I don't recall if any of them were refurbished. I tend to buy refurbished things only when they're very cheap. For a few dollars more I'll get something new.

Good to know. I'd probably just go with a new paperwhite when it's time. No use to spend 69 bucks, then spend another 35 replacing the battery. I'd just go buy a new paperwhite. At least it's waterproof now, no need to put it in a quart ziplock for reading at the beach.
