I am concerned about the screen cracking, I will most definitely buy the protective cover with my device, but I would still like to know which one is sturdier and has a better build quality (from what I've gathered so far, Pocketbooks tend to be lighter and flimsier, but I have never held one, so I'm not sure). I take very good care of my devices, but sometimes accidents happen.

Basically, the screens all come from the same source so no difference in screen durability. The one exception for 6-8" devices is the Kobo Forma which has an eInk Mobius screen with a plastic substrate instead of a thin glass substrate.
So pick the one that you are comfortable with, get a decent case and you should get years of reading.
BTW, you might want to add your location to your profile. Advice to someone in North America, Europe, Japan, etc. will differ. My guess is that you are in Europe but that's a guess.
