Thanks for your reply. I took it out to a repair shop today who said they could do it for 30 so I hope that will work. They did say it's very common with Kobo's.. The device is in perfect condition, so frustrating indeed to just have to replace the entire thing. I think if it breaks again I go back to my old Sony which is still fine haha.
