Optical teardown of a Kindle Paperwhite display by OCT

I just stumbled across this fascinating paper detailing eInk and the light diffusing layer in an entirely new way that I've never seen before:

As somebody who work on medical device development, I found it interesting to see OCT imaging used in this way. :-) (Axsun, the apparent employer of the authors was wholly owned by a company that I worked for before, and we were using their OCT lasers for medical devices)

This is probably of general interest, but I stuck it in the Kindle forum because it is the Kindle display that they're tearing down.
