MicroUSB ports need to be phased out in new products. It's okay, it had its run, but it's way more fragile and convoluted than USB-C.

Until USB-C is monitored and all cables made safely, microUSB needs to stay. Sorry, but USB-C is not ready. We need a new USB standard that will actually work properly and not be so easy to screw up. A bad USB-C cable can damage your equipment. I've never read of a bad microUSB cable causing such damage.
