It looks like a placeholder that someone entered and then forgot to update. I can see someone creating the book doing that. But, are you saying all the books you add to calibre have this in the comments? The only way I can think that would happen is if the template used when adding the book sets the comments to this. What does the "Adding books" page of the preferences look like? Do you have the "Read metadata from file content rather than file name" option selected? This was mentioned early in the thread, but, I don't see a response from you.
As an experiment, take one of the books with bad metadata after the import. Then populate it with something. It doesn't matter what, just set it to something different than what it was imported with. Then do a "Save to disk". That will create a copy of the book with the updated metadata. Then, delete the book in the library and add the save-to-disk copy. What does the metadata look like? Is it what you entered?
