If isolation actually kept viruses from spreading it would mean that people would not be developing antibodies and, once they emerged from isolation, a lot of people would get sick. But it turns out that there a lot more people who test positive for Covid
antibodies than people who have tested positive for Covid itself. Which means Covid has and is a lot more widespread than anyone knew (which means the disease is not nearly as dangerous as they feared). Herd immunity (the creation of antibodies) is already well underway.
