No, I used to use less light and that was worse for my eyes. I wanted to keep the battery going for as long as possible and read without light or 10-20%. At 30-40% it's better now. At 50% even better. But only in the day. At night 30% seems like a sweet spot to me.
It's like the contrast between the text and the background isn't good enough for my eyes without light. Orange light seems better than blue light as well.
It's a bit better using more light, but my eyes still get tired really fast. I try to look outside for 20 seconds each 20 minutes, but still not enough. It helps, but that wasn't a problem with a paper book. I'm still trying to understand what is the difference, because I like my Kobo so much otherwise!
