It's not that big of deal. I'll get by. It's just that for reading one-handed, the volume buttons are a little stiff, and not optimally positioned where my thumb wants to be. The fingerprint sensor would just be a more natural fit; especially if a single tap could be mapped to advancing the page. I don't really require an easy "go-back-a-page" gesture.

I guess for security purposes, it's not really that surprising that some phone manufacturers (or Android itself) would want to limit third-party apps' abilities to diddle with the fingerprint sensor api beyond its main purpose of unlocking.

Seems to be something being actively discouraged, now. It just would have been nice is all. Oh well. *shrug*
