Bought a Forma and a Libra for me and my wife, they both connected to my desktop and my wives Laptop without problem, but not my newer Laptop (what I needed them to work on). They would charge but not register with windows.
I finally found a little trick (you may have to reboot the kobo first), plug the micro side into the kobo normally, then put the other side into the computer SLOWLY, keep an eye on your kobo, as soon as you see the charge icon appear stop (USB should be about half way in), push and usb slowly another few mm in then the "connect to computer" option should appear, press OK. then push in a few mm more until you hear the windows chime. It should be working, don't touch the usb anymore or it may disconnect again.
