I don't think I would like buttons there. Like how Pocketbook is set up. The page buttons being right beside the home buttons seem like it would lead to mistakes. And the way I hold my reader, that's just a bad placement for me.
On the other hand, I haven't used Pocketbooks, so I'm not going to make blanket statements about how they are poorly set up.

I can make a statement on the buttons in that placement as Sony did this with the T1. The buttons where are the bottom under the screen. They were good there as it made it very easy to ignore them.
