This is basically iPhone 8 with an upgraded processor, but selling for much less. I think it will sell very well. I’m trying to talk my wife into letting me buy one to replace her SE (1st gen), which seems in need of a battery replacement (and so I can have the SE to play with! I love how comfortable it is to hold). She doesn’t do much with it other than pictures, text, calling, and some FaceTime. She probably won’t need another phone for 4 years or more.
The one thing I don’t like about the TouchID iPhones (as someone who has FaceID iPhone) is that I keep wanting to swipe up from bottom to go Home (which works on iPad with TouchID and of course FaceID devices) and to invoke task switcher. Don’t like needing to double press the button. I have had it explained to me why Apple can’t change the behavior to match everything else on iOS, but I still don’t understand. Something about breaking apps that don’t expect the ‘affordance’ UI to be at bottom of screen.
