In the UK, mobile phones have a trunk prefix of 0 (zero) followed by 10 digits. The area code is the first four digits after the 0.
So if the mobile number is 0 7890 123 456, the area code is 7890. However, most people would not consider this to be an area code because it does not point to a particular patch of land to which mobile phone “belongs”. It’s basically just part of the number."
so this approach would not work in UK
