Thumbs up Nova 2: now I’ve gone and done it!

Ordered a Nova 2 earlier today. I’ve had to give up my 12.9” iPad because of my RA; it hurt too much to hold, much less carry. I replaced it with a 10.5” iPad Pro, which is great for plodding around the Internet, but becomes painful too when I try to do long form reading.

So going back to an e-reader seemed to be the answer. After 3 kindles and 2 kindle fires I’m done with Amazon. If you’ve ever been to a Disney park you find that passing out of a ride or show you enjoyed seems to require passing through a gift shop. That’s Kindle.

So off I went to the e-reader hunting grounds to read about the best (insert prime number) e-readers of 20xx. When I last looked Kindle was king, Nook was still fighting and Kobo was to Kindle what Mac is to PC. Kindle was out, Nook didn’t really impress. I knew from past experience the Kobo Libra/Forma shape would be a problem to hold. And I kept reading about the “Kobo ecosystem” and similarities to Kindle.

Finally (yes, I know I’m long winded) I landed on Boox. It was the updated Android os and the size that caught my attention. I like the specs for storage and ram. The processor certainly sounds impressive. The Wacom stylus was a great “but wait there’s more.” All of it adds up to a system I should be able to use for several years.

So thanks to all of you here for helping with my decision.

P.S. Yes, I’m bored and long winded. A bad combo.
