I see your tinfoil hat is wearing thin. Sure, different natural light and effects from flash, when the brightest light source in the picture comes from the screens itself. Different viewing angle changes perceived color on front lit eink? On unlit eink? Try it with your own device. Different colored lights shining onto the two devices differently, and it magically coincides perfectly with the screen boundaries? No, don't think so. I even tested your theory of auto brightness changing color temperature. Checked if rotating device changes color (one Oasis is left handed, the other right handed). No such luck.
Occam's razor only leaves one answer as the most likely: the picture is legit, the devices have a different white balance without the warm leds turned on.
