After thinking on this, those on 3.48 can run use the series feature by using Kobo Utilities to update the database.But that's something that should be posted in the Kobo forum and stickied.

I got the idea from someone running a MAC that cannot be updated to the latest OSX. Apple's idea of end-of-lifing computers is not a good idea (IMHO). It should be up to the user if they want to run the newer OS as long as it runs well enough.
