Is there a particular reason why you need to use the native NeoReader app?

I do use it for some things, particularly when I'm reading books in English.

However, when I'm reading books in Chinese or Japanese, I usually use Moon+ Reader Pro. You can select which app or dictionary which you want it to use to look up a word on both a short press and a long press.

I have it set to use GoldenDict to look up selected text on a short press. It will then look for the selected text in all of my installed dictionaries in GoldenDict. To get back to the book I am reading, I then simply press the back button or the back icon. Far simpler.

I have Moon+ Reader configured to use a different app on a long press. Very convenient.

Although I could be mistaken, I don't even think that you need the Pro version to do all that. I believe it works on the free version. I just like to support useful apps.
