Yes. On a Nook, collections are called Shelves. Also, you have the option to stack books in your library by Author and you can stack by series. It is still missing things like being able to add custom fonts.

With Kobo you cannot use the series feature if you do not use Calibre to side load. But there's no reason not to use Calibre.
