I think its a quick of this particular pc, which I bought used with W10 already running. I think it has the pro .version . I did read a couple of tweak guides but looks like I need to go around the loop of adding a password, so that sign in options becom one doese available, then take password off again later.
It does go direct from power on to windows desktop already. I only see the lock screen sign in when I use sleep, wake. ( Which I do only once per 24 hours)
Risk Vs reward considerations says don't go hacking registry etc. to save 2 seconds per day,. It is my main pc for all day to day tasks, and having to rebuild it should I break it is not where I want to be..
Note that I don't have a password, even.
( Well I have 2 sign ins, the main one does not have a password, the alt one does but that's only there because I had problems seeing folders on this pc over LAN. Soi created a sign in with password option as a workaround for other PCs to access shared folders. Again that's a specific quirk with this pc. In other cases I can get 2 way LAN sharing working ok without any passwords. Maybe the original owner did some security registry tweaks that I have never explored... Risk Vs reward again.. )
When I buy a used Pc where the windows install is good, I just add a new admin account, set it up for me using my name for consistency, then delete the original armin account. This one came with a 500gb ssd c drive with W10 working, and with 24gb ram, and I just wanted to use all that without messing with it. It's an oldish dell 8500? Not an Inspiron or Vostro, but the deluxe xps range, now discontinued.
