Often "refurbished" can simply mean anything between a repackaged return to "the box was tampered with". I got a half price colour laser MFP that obviously never been unpacked as "refurbished".

I suppose some Amazon items really are "refurbished" but it does often seem to simply mean returned to stock.

The "Special Offers" vs regular Kindle pricing and unclear spec of the "Basic" kindle and limitations of the "Kids Editions" are all misleading to the unwary. Self Publishing: As indeed is the KDP Select vs KDP and Amazon POD paperbacks vs third party paperbacks. Also deceptive default "Kindle Unlimited" or "Kindle Prime" pricing and the normal price almost hidden.
Dark Arts GUI on the Check out with a big button for Sign Up to subscription and a tiny text link to continue Check-out.

Also KFX vs AZW downloads if you don't select "Download via PC".

Buyer Beware!

Also scams on the reviews. Third party sellers seem less controlled than on eBay.

Certainly there are bargains to be had on Amazon.
