Our YMCA's have been closed since the 16th.
The company my husband works for is "essential" so most of his work continues. He is working from home, but those working in the production area are having to go in. Not sure how they are dealing with the social distancing, but hubby says they have enough room to spread the workers out. Split shifts may happen also.
The head of purchasing wants the buyers to contact all of their suppliers...my husband said he has hundreds. One company in California said they were shutting down, but the "essential" category has a domino affect, so those suppliers can also keep working.
There is no slacking off because he is working from home, he is treating it exactly the same, and putting in the hours. Lots of stress, many many phone calls, he was worn out last night.
What has happened to our investments has most likely pushed off his plan of retirement at the end of 2021. We were in good shape and on track before this happened. Discussion of downsizing into a condo has also been taken off the table. The house is paid for, we have no debt. So hunkered down here with no more talk of selling and moving.
Could use some sunshine, it would be nice to be able to get outside for a bit. Family is all well, that's what really matters.
