Ah, sorry... I mean it snaps to attach to the reader. But if you fold back the cover (it easily folds back) you really don't notice any extra bulk and it doesn't keep pushing on you like it wants to return to a closed position again.
The advantage of that flexibility is that the cover doesn't get in the way. The disadvantage is that the cover is not a strong protector of the display screen.
