When I first started using calibre for my Books library I found my notional preferred viewing order is not the same as my preferred [conversion] input order, e.g. if there's an EPUB, View that; if there's a DOCX, convert that.

Plus I had different notional preferred viewing orders for my 3 libraries (Books, Papers, and Media), but my preferred [conversion] input order was the same for all three.

So, when I press 'v' I get this:

That means I get to decide which format I want to view at View time, and, via the Open with settings, which program to use.

For me at least, a two button mouse has far too little functionality to use as the main input device for feature rich programs like calibre. Fortunately, Kovid and the plugin developers provide me with customisable keyboard settings for just about everything
