Delete persistent old ebooks from Kindle
Device: basic Kindle touch bought in 2018
Firmware: 5.12.4
On my Kindle I can see many books that I bought years ago from Amazon for another Kindle. These books were never downloaded nor sideloaded to this Kindle, but they still appear in the list of books and I can't remove them.
I've tried everything! When I open the options menu (by clicking on three dots beside the name of the book) there is no option to "Remove from device" or "Delete from device". There are only two options "Download" and "Add to collection".
When I go to "Settings" => "Manually delete books" these books are not visible, so I can't delete them there.
When I connect my Kindle to a computer via a USB the books are not visible in the documents folder. I've deleted all the database files I can find in the system folder and emptied the search index.
I've also done a full factory reset of the Kindle, but as soon as I registered my Kindle, these books appeared again!
I don't want to actually delete these books from my Amazon account on the Amazon website, since these are books I have paid for and might conceivably want to read again in the future.
Can anyone give me any tips for removing them from my Kindle? There are so many of them that the Kindle has become unusable, because the few books I do want to reread are hidden among all these unwanted books.
