That seems like a good change. If you're not enjoying a book that's 200 pages you can power through and finish it. If you're not enjoying a book that's 1200 pages you either drop it or you have a few miserable weeks ahead.

I do track my 5 longest books, and have a target for the total page count. It does come from a challenge a few years ago to read 5 long books, where I aimed for an average of 1000 pages per book, but that was mainly because I had 5 long books I wanted to read (and one of them - Lonesome Dove - was a little shy of the 1000). These days it's just for fun, and to make sure I don't pad out my list with super-short books.
