Apologies, from a New Yorker living in New England.
I admit I was reflecting my own bias; I grew up on the New Haven Line and Fairfield County seemed much of a muchness with Westchester.
The acid test is which baseball team’s got your loyalty! The New York Times has a very fun map which tracked baseball loyalty by zip code. The Yankees penetrated deeper into the Nutmeg State than I would have guessed.
(I could live in New England for a century, and I still wouldn’t be a Red Sox fan.)
