Migrating From Kindle Keyboard to Kindle Paperwhite

My venerable old Kindle Keyboard finally died - smashed screen - and I've ordered a new Kindle Paperwhite 10th Gen to replace it. How do I migrate my data? Ideally, I'd like to preserve:
  • Books
  • Categories
  • Last-read pages
  • Bookmarks
  • Notes

Notes:
  • Losing last-read pages would be a minor annoyance, losing categories would mean a lot of work to recreate them, losing bookmarks & notes would be a real problem
  • Most of my books were loaded via USB or delivered via my free.kindle.com account. A minority were purchased from Amazon; I have not made any effort to strip DRM in these cases; none of them have any irreplaceable bookmarks or notes
  • I still have the Kindle Keyboard and it is functional other than 90% of the screen being dead, so I can copy files off it, but I cannot read anything off it or perform any commands on it (unless they're simple enough to do blind)
