* Depends. If you manually copy an update.bin file via USB or ssh or something, then it will always update.

On 5.10.x, if there's no update.bin file on the USB when you tap on Update your Kindle, the update.bin.tmp.partial blocker folder created by the KUAL Helper+ add-on should prevent downloading it over wifi.

5.11+ firmware can defeat the blocker folder.
