Actually, FWIW, I grew up on boats.

Both sets of my grandparents were boating folk; my one grandfather preferred power; the other sail. I could take care of teak decks almost before I could ride a bicycle and I grew to loathe cleaning brass at the same time. I probably have grooves in my skin to this day from wearing life preservers in my toddler years and I could say "regatta" before I could walk. I lived shipboard every summer, well into my early teen years.

I'm well aware of using Oxalic acid--which is WHY I like Barkeeper's Friend over Comet, et al. I just don't bloody well care that it's a few pennies more than making it myself--which, I think, is what I said.
