Sounds like an issue with the updated version of Qt and the video drivers causing the crashes. Try updating your video drivers. If that does not help, then your best bet is going back to calibre 4.9 for the time being. Another possible workaround is to create and set a bookmark before going to sleep, that will cause the viewer to save its current position.
